THC
Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is a cannabinoid found in cannabis that is the principle psychoactive constituent of cannabis.
Tetrahydrocannabinol acid (THCA) is very similar to THC but no psychoactive effects until it is heated/smoked, which then changes the chemical structure to THC, and therefore psychoactive.
Hexahydrocannabinol (HHC) is a cannabinoid that is chemically like THC with added hydrogen atoms which turns it into HHC.
Cannabidiol (CBD) is used to ease symptoms of anxiety, addiction, psychosis, movement disorders and pain.
Cannabinol (CBN) is used to ease symptoms and side effects of some neurological conditions. Helps with relaxation and is common for products that help with relaxation and sleep.
Cannabigerol (CBG) is used to reduce anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, PTSD, depression, and reducing inflammation in the body.
Full-Spectrum
Products contain a Full-Spectrum of cannabinoids (much more than just CBD), like CBN, CBC, CBL, CBD-V, THC, etc. The extract includes a host of terpenes, antioxidants, amino acids, flavonoids, and phytonutrients. Unlike many of our competitors, we do not utilize any isolates (a single cannabinoid) in our products, but rather rely on the naturally occurring, full profile of cannabinoids in our proprietary Cherry strain of USDA certified organic hemp. This keeps all the compounds intact to ensure users benefit from what's called the "Entourage Effect" of all of the compounds working in harmony, as nature designed them to be.
Broad-Spectrum
Through a USDA organic certified process, labs remediate Full-Spectrum oil to remove the THC, so you’re still getting a robust profile of cannabinoids, terpenes, antioxidants, amino acids, and more. Broad-Spectrum extract still includes the cannabinoids like CBN, CBC, CBL, CBD-V, though it tests at 0.0% THC.
Sativa
Sativa often has lower doses of CBD and higher doses of THC.
Sativa often produces a “mind high” and an energizing, anxiety-reducing effect.
Because of its stimulation effects, sativa is often used in the daytime, to get tasks done, to laugh, and before exercise.
Hybrid
Many hybrid plants are grown to increase the THC percentage, but each type has a unique ratio of the two cannabinoids.
Producers select hybrids for their unique effects. They can range from reducing anxiety and stress, to easing symptoms of chemotherapy or radiation.
Depending on the dominate strain of the hybrid, it can be used day or night.
Indica
Indica strains often have higher levels of CBD, but the THC content isn’t necessarily less.
Indica is sought after for its intensely relaxing “body high” effects.
It may also help reduce nausea and pain and increasing appetite.
Because of its deep relaxing effects, indica is typically consumed at night.
Delta-9 vs. Delta-8
Both delta-8 and delta-9 are cannabinoids that are similar in name and chemical structure. However, delta-9 is naturally occurring (and basically the scientific name of THC that we’ve been using forever) and delta-8 is synthetically lab made. *The Hana Co. does not carry any delta-8 products for the health and safety of our customers.
How is this legal?
Hemp products that comply with the Farm Bill are legal to adults 21+ in all states except for Alaska, Idaho, Kansas, Washington, and District of Columbia.
The 2018 Farm Bill (The Agriculture Improvement Act) appears to allow use of parts of the cannabis plant that contain 0.3% or less of THC. The legal term for these parts of the plant is hemp.
Cannabis became legal in New York State for medical purposes when the Medical Cannabis Program was implemented in 2016.
Adult-Use (also known as recreational) Cannabis was legalized in New York State when the Marijuana Regulation & Taxation Act (MRTA) was signed on March 31, 2021.
